Support Group for Children Whose Parents Have Cancer
Each session will focus on a select topic and will incorporate age appropriate activities for children aged 5-12 years old such as: art, music, games, horticulture and memory-making. Recognizing the impact of a cancer diagnosis on the whole family system, this group will help children to:
- Increase their ability to understand and discuss feelings about the parent’s cancer in a safe environment
- Learn how to communicate feelings to others
- Cope with feelings
